The Sustaining Health Outcomes through the Private Sector (SHOPS) Plus project, a flagship USAID initiative, is an integrated SBC communication approach that strategically used different communication channels to improve the demand for reproductive and child health products and services among the urban poor in India.SHOPS Plus developed distinct IPC activities (known in India as on-ground activations) to add detail to and contextualize the project’s mass media and social media campaigns on contraceptive use and diarrhea management.
Shops plus Partnered with Aide society for the implementation of its onground activation model BindasBinita which was on awareness generation of FP short acting method & Dorie Game which was on diahorrea management& nutrition. Aide society has conducted multiple SBCC activities with SHG groups to create awareness on family Planning short acting methods & diahorrea management among children of 6-5 Years of age by use of ORS & Zinc& proper hygiene & nutrition.
Aide Society has also organized BCC activities to create awareness about menstrual hygiene among adolescents of slums . During the events distribution of sanitary pads & informational leaflets of menstrual hygiene were distributed.
